Encina: Big Petrochemical Plans On A Small Scale

Posted by: David Schwedel

David Schwedel, Executive Director David Schwedel of Encina, is gearing up to more than $2 billion in opportunities during the next several years. Through Encina, Schwedel plans to develop plants that produce benzene, toluene and xylenes (BTX), capable of capturing 100% of the CO2, eliminating sulfur, and reducing mercury, from low-value coal feedstock through the plant process.

“We will be deploying a proprietary pyrolysis unit along with other liquids and gas technologies enabling separation and certain yield improvements,” Schwedel explained to DownstreamBusiness.com.
